About 70 % of U.S. adults have experienced a severe traumatic event at least once in their life and one out of five go on to develop symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Common signs and symptoms of traumatic stress:

· Fatigue
· Being easily startled
· Headaches
· Sweating
· Gastro-intestinal problems
· Fear
· Anger
· Guilt
· Anxiety
· Reduced awareness
· Feeling like you are numb or not part of the world
· Helplessness
· Hopelessness

When should I seek professional help?

Many people are able to cope effectively with the emotional and physical demands brought about by being traumatized, such as rape by using their own support systems. It is not unusual, however, to find that serious problems persist and continue to interfere with daily living. For example, some may feel overwhelming nervousness or lingering sadness that adversely affects job performance and interpersonal relationships. Individuals with prolonged reactions that disrupt their daily functioning should consult with a trained and experienced mental health professional.

If you have gone through a traumatic experience you may be dealing with painful emotions, frightening memories, or a sense of constant danger. You may feel numb, disconnected, and unable to trust other people.

What is Clinical Brainspotting?

Clinical Brainspotting is a counseling technique that promotes effective healing through physiological (mind/body connection). This approach originated from EMDR, was created by David Grand via working with an athlete who was struggling to perform advanced maneuvers. His work cleared the physical response thereby addressing the mind's underlying emotional response. This approach does not work with everyone, however significant relief has been facilitated for: focus, grief, anxiety, anger, self esteem, and trauma.

What is Rapid Trauma Resolution?

The Connelly method of Rapid Trauma Resolution™ is painless and complete. Patients are not required to relive the past or feel the pain from traumatic events such as rape. The ongoing influences that painful past events have on emotions, thoughts and behaviors are eliminated; whether the traumatic experiences are remembered or repressed. Unconscious conflicts blocking desired change are resolved. Self destructive behavior disappears. The mind is clear. There is emotional freedom. Patients report an immediate difference – a feeling of peace, strength and energy. Since the root cause of problems has been resolved; desired change is automatic and lasting.
